We have almost 90 charity shops across the UK that are run with volunteers. As a volunteer you can help to create eye-catching window displays and even give upcycling a go. Get started today.

    Whether it's dressing a shop window, doing the social media for a Mary's Living & Giving Shop or upcycling an old item in our other Save the Children shops, there are so many fun things that you can do as a shop volunteer.

    Our volunteers are professional and dedicated - you'll get to make new friends and work as part of a brilliant team.

  3. It's flexible
    Volunteering in our shops is easy and flexible. Most shops just ask you to do a regular few hours per week. Your availability is something we will discuss once you've applied.

    We're always looking for people who can share thier existing skills and experience plus those who are willing to learn new skills

MARY'S LIVING & GIVING

Mary Portas stands smiling

We set up these boutique charity shops with the help of retail expert Mary Portas - every item donated helps children reach their full potential.

The first ever Mary’s Living & Giving shop opened in Stockbridge, Edinburgh in 2009. Over a decade later there are now 25 shops across the UK which have raised over £30million for Save the Children. 

As a volunteer you can design shop windows, work at events and help out with the shop's social media.

At the moment you need to be aged 18 or over to volunteer with Save the Children, but we hope to be able to offer volunteering opportunities for young people in the near future.

Volunteering in a charity shop will allow you to learn new, transferable skills. You will meet customers, sort donations and stock and make new friends. You will also be responsible for keeping the shop looking attractive and help with promotional events.

 

We’re looking for people who are friendly and welcoming! No experience needed as all training will be provided.
